State of the Map 2013

the OpenStreetMap event: 6-8 September 2013

A virtual SOTM?

The annual State of the Map conference is just round the corner and as the organising team we are super excited. But what if you cannot make it over to Birmingham, UK, to join in the fun. Well today we received a question about live video streaming from an OpenStreetMap group in Kathmandu, Nepal:

“Kathmandu Living Labs is a non profit organization working on OSM and Open Data in Kathmandu, Nepal. We are the people behind the Open Cities Kathmandu Project.

We would like to organize an event and show the SotM talks as live here in Kathmandu. Are you guys providing live streams from the event? If yes, from where can we access the streams?”

What a wonderful idea. If you and a group of OSMers are not able to make it to this years SOTM, then why not meet up and enjoy the live video streams together. You will obviously need a reasonably fast internet connection and suitably large screen or projector. Keep you eyes on stateofthemap.org and the OpenStreetMap wiki for hyperlinks to the video streams.
